David Roberts has been working in the tourist industry over the last 25 years. He started as a tour bus
driver and has gone on to manage a number of tourism companies ranging from attractions to
transportation to sightseeing. After opening his own Company, A Capital Idea Consulting Ltd, he made it his mission to help companies of all sizes work cooperatively to strengthen their marketing opportunities. It was through this company that he started working at CVS Cruise Victoria Ltd, the parent company for Pacific Northwest Transportation Services Ltd., as their General Manager. The working relationship that has been forged with the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GHVA) has lead to Victoria having one of the greenest transportation operations on the Alaska cruise routing. PNWTS has the first 2 - 100% purpose built electric Double Deckers in North America. PNWTS operates within a small residential community and managed the transportation needs for over 240 ships with no complaints from the neighbourhood. David has worked hard to bring in many environmentally sustainable initiatives and continues to look for new ways to lead the industry in its stewardship of the communities in which it works and lives.
