Pam Schwann is the President of the Saskatchewan Mining Association (SMA), representing companies that are engaged in the safe and responsible exploration, development and production of minerals within Saskatchewan. She has held this position since 2008.
Pam co-chaired the inaugural PNWER Minerals Session in 2013 as well as in 2014 and is very pleased to be participating once again to highlight the opportunities and economic contributions of Minerals and Mining within the PNWER.
 
Pam has a Bachelor of Science, Honours – Geology from the University of Regina and a Master of Science from Carleton University in Ottawa.  She is a registered member of APEGS.  Prior to joining the SMA, Pam worked in Ottawa with the Geological Survey of Canada until 1989 when she accepted the job of Resident Geologist, Energy and Resources in La Ronge.  She lived in La Ronge for 10 years, the last two working with northern indigenous communities as the first Director, Northern Mines Monitoring Secretariat, Northern Affairs. While in La Ronge, Pam was a Sessional Lecturer at NORTEP/NORPAC in La Ronge where she instructed Geology 102 courses for 8 years. Pam moved back to Regina in 1998 as the Director, Mines Branch, Energy and Resources. 
Pam has achieved her Pro. Dir. Certification through Brown Governance, has served on the Board of Saskatchewan Polytechnic for 8 years, including 2 as Chair, the Board of Innovation Saskatchewan as is on the Board of WESTEST.
