Sara Morrissey is the Public Affairs Manager for Travel Oregon. She is the agency’s point person for the Oregon Governor’s Council on Wildfire Response which is tasked to review Oregon's current model for wildfire prevention, preparedness and response, analyzing whether or not the current model is sustainable given our increasing wildfire risks. She is also on the Oregon Governor’s Task Force on Outdoor Recreation which is working collaboratively to develop recommendations for Economic development of rural and urban areas to ensure equal access to the outdoors; balancing improved access to the outdoors with environment and natural resource protection; and increasing outdoor participation, especially among youth and traditionally underserved communities. Sara completed her Masters in Urban and Regional Program at Portland State University and has been working at Travel Oregon to develop and implement public policy and related communication strategies to achieve and advance Travel Oregon’s mission and strategic goals. Sara is a native speaker of both English and Spanish and is an avid non-profit volunteer in Portland. On the weekends you can find Sara backpacking, rafting, snowboarding or enjoying a cold craft beer.
