Representative Gestrin was appointed in August 2012, to fill a House vacancy in District 8. He was born in Cascade, Idaho, and earned his B.B.A. in finance from Idaho State University. In the past he has been a Volunteer Fire Chief, the Donnelly Valley County Commissioner, Chairman for the Valley County Republican Central Committee, and is a board member for the Idaho Foundation for Parks and Lands.
